Museum Overview
The study of the place of the bow in the lives of Neolithic men is at the heart of the temporary exhibition Archers of Prehistory at the Museum of Archery and Valois.
Essential for meeting daily needs, the bow was one of the first inventions of prehistoric men and naturally occupies a central place in the exhibition's theme.
Original artifacts and facsimiles alike will offer a deeper understanding of these prehistoric archers, their way of life, their techniques, and their adaptability within a changing environment, far removed from the stereotypes often associated with this period. Surrounded by academics, archaeologists, traceologists, bow makers, and archers themselves, the Archery and Valois Museum has conceived this exhibition, drawing on its own collections as well as loans and partnerships with other French institutions and museums.
