Nestled in the village of Ermenonville, near Senlis and Chantilly, the Jardin de l'Echassière is a green oasis inspired by the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll's tale, Alice in Wonderland.

This 1 m² garden, laid out in the former vegetable garden of the Château d'Ermenonville, invites you to a fun and poetic botanical walk, echoing the “writers’ trail”.

Created by garden enthusiasts based in Ermenonville, the Jardin de l'Echassière stands out for its floral diversity and lushness.

More than a hundred rose bushes, mostly old varieties, adorn the premises.

This plant diversity, which offers successive blooms throughout the year, is highlighted by pastel shades which temper the charm of the garden.

The Jardin de l'Echassière draws its inspiration from several horticultural traditions: the structured rigor of the French garden and the free animation of the English garden.

This marriage of influences is perceptible in the layout of the spaces and the use of old objects, such as a Comtoise clock transformed into an insect shelter, a plant-bed cage, or even a Voltaire armchair transformed into a decorative element.

These recovered and reinvented objects add a nostalgic and playful dimension, reinforcing the magical atmosphere of the place.
